A Shortage of Cancer Drugs
Summary
Romania is currently facing the issue of a shortage of cancer drugs. Many patients are missing out on their drug medications. The struggle has been going on for about 2 years already. The Romania government recently revealed their budget and decided to give 800,000 euros to Unifarm, in order to provide the drugs for the needed patients. However, people stated that offering money wasn't gonna solve anything. Why? It's because of the government's corrupt healthcare providers. Their drug regulation were also inadequate so nothing could be done when a crisis shows up.
My Thoughts, Comments, and/or Reaction
The healthcare in Romania to me seems very weak and the government seems to not be doing anything about it. From reading the article, I suppose the part financed by direct taxation does not cover all expenses. Probably an additional part of the funding should be provided by the government and it is not which is why exactly the government should do something more about it.
Article's Relation to Politics
Health cares are funded by the government. If a problem arises upon it, the government is who people would blame. An issue like this could be taken further into politics if it gets any worse. Our government is honestly the solution to these type of problems.
